Snow casting

The second try of snow casting, this time pouring concrete.
First I compacted the snow, then I get the shape by melting the snow with warm water, and then I pour the concrete.
Here I was trying to make something with legs, unfortunately they break when I remove the snow due to its own weight. I’ll have to reinforce it next time.

Tin foil casting

Here I made a tin foil mold. I covered with plaster paris to prevent leaks, and I casted Zamak and alloy with zinc, aluminium, magnesium and copper.

PU Foam injection

I’ve been injecting poliuretane foam in fabric molds that I have been sawing.
The body of the piece is made out of fabric and the legs are cardboard tubes. I injected the foam through the hollow legs.
The foam gives the shape “inflating” the fabric and also glues the body and the legs together.

Flour casting

I casted paraffin on flour.
To get the shape I pressed the original over the flour and then pour the hot paraffin.
The result is quite accurate. The surface has a thin layer of paraffin mixed with flour that makes the piece be soft and white.

knots. diagonal lashing

Large structures can be built with a combination of square and diagonal lashing, with square lashing generally used on load bearing members and diagonal lashing usually applied to cross bracing. If any gap exists between the poles then diagonal lashing should be used.

knots. square lashing

Square lashing is a type of lashing knot used to bind poles together.
