Today I recorded sound by my recorder and played the sound by my earphone in the same time. It seems like every single sound has been amplified. When I turned the volume louder, I couldn’t hear the noise outside but only the noise in my earphone which I recorded from surrounding. Suddenly it became very odd when I only can hear the environmental noise through earphone, because those noises don’t have any direction at all. I couldn’t tell where the sound came from only if I saw the image in front of me. Those noises are not only been amplified, but also been divided as a sound without direction.

I was sitting on my chair in studio, writing my thought of my project. I heard my pen scratching my sketch book and my hands sliding through the paper. Someone’s talking but I couldn’t tell where he or she is. Someone was adjusted his chair but I still couldn’t tell where the noise from. I could hear the ambulance alarm but not through the window but right in front of my head. People were walking, talking, and laughing behind me, but I couldn’t find out it was from my left side or right side, and I couldn’t tell the noises of buses and cars are come from the window beside me or the window form my back as well.

For me it looks like I lose one of my nature consciousnesses to see or listen the world—lose the ability of telling the direction of noise. In this world every single noise is flat and without direction.
In visually, it looks like I’m seeing the world in a kind of limit condition.
It’s a world that seeing straightly, without side vision.
It’s a world seeing through the fabric.

This is another experiment about trying to test how people recognized sound in different places. It’s a sound about connecting different spaces in to one continuous journey, which means I recorded different spatial sound (the studio, library, workshop in RCA building & transportation),especially focused on the sound of “door” (to take it as a trigger to enter different spaces), and connected different spatial sound randomly (& sometimes the connections are irrational).
So it sounds like u walk into different places door by door.
